Yes Invisihitch is releasing a WDH compatible attachment but it is bolt-on, meaning the Invisihitch pretty much becomes a DrawTite with a permanently visible receiver. since I have ZERO plans to tow anything other than my bikes does it pay to order the OEM hitch Trust when I say ZERO plans to tow anything. Thanks I'm going to check out the DrawTite this week. draw-tite I own a 98 M元20 and I'm about to order a Draw-tite hitch (no wiring) that is very similar to the OEM hitch for 125 (shipping included) so that I can attach a bike rack. I've heard through one of the Invisihitch reps that they may be releasing a hitch with a 2" receiver that IS compatible with a WDH. Also gives you the optionality of towing some cool stuff down the road. If you don't mind looking at a 2" receiver from behind and want to save $700-800, the Draw-tite is an excellent option. If money is no issue and you don't plan on towing anything large and prone to sway, I'd go with the Invisihitch in a heart beat. I plan on towing a 5,000+ lb rig and trailer sway is the last thing I want to worry about during long trips. Draw-Tite Over fifty years and millions of trailer hitches later, our 500 dedicated employees put the same care and patience into every hitch we build today as Bill Whichello did fifty years ago. Several X5'ers on the boards have used a WDH and have had great success. I understand that BMW reportedly advises against using a WDH, but I speculate that this is to avoid liability. I seriously considered this option, but the inability to tow with a weight distribution hitch was a dealbreaker for me. allows for variety of 2' receiver accessories. Maximum Tongue Weight capacity of 350 lbs. The look of the Invishitch is unbeatable (.invisible). Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch has a Class III tow rating, capable of hauling a Gross Trailer Weight of 3500 lbs. I have a 2015 X5 50i with the Luxury Line package. Curt 13119 Class 3 Trailer Hitch 2-Inch Receiver For 2012-2016 Honda CR-V NEW. I have a 2016 X5 35d with M Sport and while the Invisihitch seems awesome, the DrawTite is a fraction of the cost and having a typical 2" receiver tube ultimately more "standard". 2012- 2015 Honda CR-V Genuine OEM Honda Cargo Organizer. Can you confirm the year of your X5 and whether yours has the M Sport package or not? Looking at your picture and exhaust it does look like the M Sport. Also, the trailer you linked to on there is 1,920 LBS. Ive been told that putting in a higher class hitch on a car that cant even tow the extra weight, is useless. Ive towed trailers many times from UHaul and never had any problems. America’s Favorite Hitch has gained even more notoriety through this exciting sponsorship. Thanks for posting, I'm just having the same dilemma. The only differences between the OEM hitch is its class and receiver.
